re. Warrant

There's the Warrant of Much Music fame (infamy?), and then there's the early eighties Warrant (I can't remember the name of the album, but it had an executioner standing by a bloody chopping block, and the tracks were f*cking hard).



Just a trivia bite, and I'm grateful that I don't even know who most of the bands were in the last post...

I don't much like emo, corse I'm getting old now, so I gues it's a common lament, that the music that comes after your particular generation sucks. That's the way it's always been. I just think that most of the bands now that are played on the radio and tv aren't chosen by the people- they somehow get pushed by the suits. Back in the day, a bands manager would show up at the radio station and throw the dj an 8ball of coke, and the music would get played enough for the people to want to then request it.
Seeems like I dig some of the rock coming out of the radio these days, except just when you think, "here comes the lead-here it comes...", then nothing. It's like they forgot to learn to play lead, or hire someone who knows how. Back in the day it was a matter of pride to have a lead guitarist who would shred, but nowadays, not so much, and nobody cares.
I kinda like Hammerfall, they kick ass, and Coheed and Cambria. It's hard for an older metalhead like me to find something I like thats new. i don't wanna be stuck listening to old shit all the time.
